What is Art Week South Walton?

Art Week South Walton is an initiative of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County with the purpose to bring neighborhoods, organizations and businesses together to present quality arts and entertainment to the community. Spanning at least ten days, ArtWeek will feature visual, performing and literary arts programming in diverse formats and in various venues throughout South Walton and beyond.

Where does Art Week South Walton take place?

AWSW events happen throughout South Walton and also in the northern part of Walton County. Events can take place in galleries, businesses, restaurants, outdoors, indoors, and in any traditional or non-traditional space – the sky’s the limit.

What events are included in Art Week South Walton?

In its first year, Art Week South Walton will include ArtsQuest – a fine arts show in Grand Boulevard, Digital Graffiti – a projection art festival in Alys Beach, the Seaside Writers Conference, the annual one-night-only performance by Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet in Seaside and more! Our goal is for AWSW to include all kinds of performing, visual and literary art events, workshops, exhibits, concerts and creative experiences!

How can my business or I be included in AWSW?

Interested organizations and individuals can submit an event to be included in AWSW. Submissions are accepted year-round but must be received by March 1 each year to be included in the current year’s Art Week. Submission forms can be downloaded online. We encourage arts organizations and businesses, galleries, artists, designers, architects, schools, communities and creators of any kind to come up with an idea to be a part of Art Week.

Where should I stay while attending AWSW?

Most events have their own lodging partners, which we have listed on our VISITORS page. Lodging partners usually offer nice discounts to those coming into town for AWSW events.

How can an artist or organization can be involved?

• Workshops or classes in gallery or studio
• Behind the scenes sneak-peak during creation process (painting,
theatre, music)
• Literary readings
• Talks, tours, panels to discuss creative topics of any kind
• Film showings
• Multi-day festivals, events, conferences
• Public art installation
• Be creative and come up with a unique idea! We are happy to
brainstorm with you!

Is there a fee to be included? What are my obligations?

There is currently no fee to be included in AWSW. We do require that you include the Art Week logo on your event collateral (posters, brochures, postcards, print ads). Logos and brand standards will be supplied to you.

What benefit is there for my event to be a part of AWSW?

Your event will be promoted on the AWSW website and in social media campaigns. Additionally, AWSW will be marketed locally, regionally and nationally through digital, print and radio campaigns. You will also be a part of the first-ever community-wide arts initiative of this kind.

How do I attend an AWSW event? Is there a cost?

Some events are free and some are ticketed. Visit each event’s page on our website for information on ticket costs and how to purchase. Then follow their links for even more detailed information.
